Thank you for visiting our site.  We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the welfare of homeless animals.

OUR MISSION

Animal Guardians of Brevard was formed to promote responsible, lifetime pet guardianship through education, counseling, and accessible, affordable sterilization.  We strive to increase awareness of companion animal overpopulation and promote or participate in any activities that will improve the well-being of homeless, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted animals.

OUR VISION

Animal Guardians of Brevard   exists to see that one day every companion animal born will have the lifetime, loving home s/he deserves in a world with No More Homeless Pets.

The primary focus of Animal Guardians of Brevard is to promote and provide Spaying and Neutering for cats and dogs, and we have arranged and funded sterilization of nearly 5500 animalsPLEASE HELP US CONTINUE THIS WORK and donate today.

PLEASE HELP US CONTINUE TO SAVE LIVES !!!

We are the ONLY program in the area that provides whatever financial assistance is needed for eligible pet guardians to get their pets sterilized.  YOU CAN SAVE LIVES THROUGH US WITH A DONATION.  99% of our contributions go DIRECTLY to fund this work.   PLEASE make a donation today by contacting us, or through safe, secure

PLEASE NOTE:  Animal Guardians of Brevard is NOT a shelter and we do not have animals directly in our care.  Therefore we cannot accept any animals.  We also cannot find new homes for animals unless they are already in shelters.

We support the efforts of the Brevard County Animal Care and Adoption Centers (South-SACC, North-NACC) in trying to manage all the animals discarded, abandoned, or turned away by the community and the area's "no-kill" shelters, which are also subject to the overwhelming number of unwanted pets.

SACC and NACC are Brevard's largest and ONLY open-admission shelters, accepting any animal, from any source, for any reason, at any time.  They are always overcrowded with healthy, friendly cats and dogs who need safe, loving homes.  PLEASE open your heart and your home to an animal in dire need.  Save a life.

See Adoptable Animals from SACC and NACC on Petfinder

Shelter animals are also be available for adoption at Aloha Pet and Bird Hospital at 968 E. Eau Gallie Blvd. on the beach (321-777-6444).

AN URGENT PLEA:  PLEASE FOSTER NEEDY ANIMALS

The shelters always needs foster caregivers for dogs and cats.  TO HELP SAVE LIVES, please visit the South Animal Care & Adoption Center at 5100 West Eau Gallie Boulevard in Melbourne, FL to complete a foster application and get more details.  See MAP

This mother cat got lucky and someone fostered her tiny babies until they could find homes.  But afterward, mothers often do not find forever homes of their own.  They are frequently nearly babies themselves.   Many mothers with tiny kittens, orphan kittens and puppies too small to survive, and other cats and dogs are in desperate need of foster care and permanent homes.   Please give them a chance.  Be a foster caregiver.  For more information about fostering contact the South Animal Care and Adoption Center or call 321-7253-6608.

Animal Guardians' SPAY-NEUTER CLINICS and Assistance

Animal Guardians of Brevard offers low cost spay-neuter services (and financial aid for eligible pet guardians) through local low-cost clinics.

Animal Guardians of Brevard will be sponsoring the "FIX A KITTY" cat sterilization PROGRAM with the SPCA of North Brevard.  Please click here for more information.

Animal Guardians of Brevard has had to curtail our regular Spay-Neuter Programs due to low funding and high demand.   Please check back here for information about upcoming clinics we are planning, and when we will resume normal operations.  Donations are always welcome and will allow us to resume assistance sooner and sponsor larger clinics.  Thank you for your understanding.

Please check directly with area low-cost clinics for local low-cost sterilization options.

APPOINTMENTS ARE MANDATORY.  Please click here or contact us for more information.

PLEASE NOTE:  We do NOT spay and neuter pets purchased from pet stores or breeders, or adopted from rescue organizations for an adoption fee.  If you cannot afford the cost of sterilization and necessary shots in addition to the price or adoption fee, then please adopt from a responsible organization where it is all included.   Generally the fee is no higher and the animals are just as wonderful!

Brevard County Animal Services has re-instituted a Low Cost Spay-Neuter Program to help eligible Brevard County residents get their cats sterilized ($20 for a cat including some shots).  Please contact Brevard Animal Services for more information.
ATTENTION FERAL CAT CAREGIVERS:  The Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) has dedicated time for sterilization of feral cats at their spay-neuter clinic in Cocoa.  This is a great resource filling a desperate need in Brevard.  The rates are very reasonable and include a rabies shot.  What a deal!!!  Check the CBHS website or call them at (321) 636-3343 ext. 206.

Animal Guardians of Brevard is honored to be the recipient of a generous donation from the estate of Ranada Pedersen.   Ranada was a true lover of homeless cats and a long-time supporter of Animal Guardians.  Her final gift will be used to sterilize some of the stray cats for whom she cared so much.  We extend our deepest sympathy to those who knew and cared for this thoughtful lady.  In her memory, many lives will be saved and the birth and suffering of hundreds of homeless, abandoned, and unwanted cats will be prevented.  We are honored to be entrusted with this gift.

Animal Guardians of Brevard is honored to be the recipient of a very generous donation from the estate of Mr. William Townsend.  Mr. Townsend’s final gift will save the lives and prevent the birth and suffering of thousands of homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals.

Mr. Townsend was a devoted animal lover throughout his life.  In his later years he could not have pets,  Instead, he gave generously of his time and love to Brevard’s less fortunate dogs and cats as a volunteer at his local animal shelter.

We extend our deepest sympathy to those who knew and cared for this thoughtful gentleman.  Such kindness makes the world a better place for everyone, especially the animals for whom Mr. Townsend cared so much.

Every time disaster strikes, people rush to adopt displaced pets. While this is a very generous gesture, PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT SWEET, BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY ANIMALS IN BREVARD DIE FOR LACK OF HOMES EVERY DAY whether there has been a disaster or not.  IF YOU HAVE A HOME FOR A DISASTER PET, SURELY YOU HAVE ONE FOR A LOCAL PET WHOSE LIFE IS JUST AS VALUABLE.  Read Buddy's story.

"No Kill" STARTS with No Birth.

Those of us involved with Animal Guardians of Brevard appreciate the strength of the pet-person bond and the devastating effects loss of a pet can have.  Our sympathy is with all who have lost a cherished companion and we have dedicated a PET LOSS page to the beloved pets of those who have suffered such a loss.
